Get ready for a fast-paced, chaotic, and hilarious Mario Kart 8 Deluxe showdown! This tournament is all about fun, friendly competition, and unforgettable moments. Whether you’re a pro or a casual racer, everyone’s welcome to join the madness!

📜 Rules & Format

Setup:

6 x Splitscreen
Joy Cons or 3rd Party Pro Controllers are provided, and cannot be changed during the event! If you have a prefrence, contact @PCBaum to ensure that you are seated accordingly.

Race Settings:

Mode: 150cc (for a balance of skill and chaos)
Items: On (because what’s Mario Kart without a little anarchy?)
Tracks: Free selection from all cups (including DLC)
- make sure to altenate the selecting with your screen-buddy
- don't select courses that were already played
Races per Round: 4 (to keep things dynamic)

Tournament Structure:

N: Number of Players
G: Number of Groups (= ⌈N/12⌉)

Phase 1: Qualifiers (20 min per Group)

Players are split into G groups of approximately equal size.
Each group races 4 tracks.
As many from each group advance to the finals, so that the finals have 12 Participants.

Phase 2: Finals (~30 min)

12 finalists race in a best-of-X series (most points wins!).
Tracks are freely selected for each race.
Tiebrake: 1V1 on the Big Screen

Scoring:

Standard Mario Kart 8 Deluxe point system (1st: 15 pts, 2nd: 12 pts, etc.).
Tiebreaker: firs to realize that there is a draw hits the Bell!
